From Here to There: My Path & Progress

Sunshine State Native with a Passion for Tampa Bay

Born and raised in Tampa Bay since 1994, I'm a true Floridian with roots stretching back to New York (thanks, Mom and Dad!). This vibrant corner of the state has always felt like home – the beautiful weather, endless attractions, and the thrill of professional sports are all part of the Tampa Bay magic.

Speaking of magic, being a die-hard fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Lightning, and Rays has been a lifelong dream.  For years, I yearned to become a season ticket holder for the Bucs, and in March 2020, that dream finally became a reality!  Since then, I've proudly held onto those coveted tickets, cheering on our hometown heroes alongside the rest of the Buccaneer faithful.

But my biggest fan (with the waggiest tail) is my amazing dog, Kovac. We've been inseparable since the day I found him, a tiny pup, on the side of US-19 at just six weeks old.

This website is a reflection of my life in Tampa Bay – the experiences, the passions, and the love for this incredible place.

From Criminal Justice to Healthcare Champion

My educational path has been a journey of exploration and discovery.  It all began at Pinellas Park High School, where I graduated from the Criminal Justice Academy magnet program in 2012. This program sparked my initial interest in law enforcement.

Following graduation, I knew I wanted to stay rooted in the Tampa Bay area I love.  The University of South Florida became my next destination, and I initially pursued a degree in Criminology. With a head start from my high school program and college courses, I was on track to graduate early.

However, a turning point came in the summer of 2014. While earning a National Security Intel Certificate, I realized my true passion lay elsewhere.  This led me to switch majors to Health Sciences at USF. This diverse degree provided a strong foundation, encompassing medical school pre-requisites, healthcare business operations, and navigating the complexities of health insurance.

During my studies, I became increasingly fascinated by the business side of healthcare and the intricacies of health insurance processes. This passion solidified after graduation in May 2016, when I began my healthcare career at Retina Associates of Florida.

While excelling in day-to-day operations like medical billing, outpatient surgery, and navigating insurance processes, I craved further knowledge. I actively pursued and obtained my FL-215: Resident Health & Life (Including Annuities & Variable Contracts) Agent License, demonstrating my commitment to the field.

My success led me to a rewarding opportunity in 2019, joining the provider's contracted consultant company. This role significantly deepened my understanding of healthcare business operations.  Fueled by this experience and a desire to give back to my community, I embarked on a new adventure - starting my own healthcare consulting business.

My educational journey, with its twists and turns, has ultimately led me to where I belong – empowering others within the healthcare system.

Pursuing Additional Credentials

In the healthcare field, staying ahead of the curve is crucial. That's why I'm passionate about ongoing education and professional development.  Even with my extensive experience, I believe the key to success lies in continually seeking new knowledge.

That's why I'm currently pursuing multiple certifications through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). These certifications – Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), and Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) – will equip me with the latest industry expertise. This translates to providing you, my clients, with the most accurate, efficient, and compliant healthcare consulting services.

But my learning doesn't stop there!  I'm always open to acquiring additional specialty certifications if it means helping you achieve your specific healthcare goals.  Consider this your assurance that I'm dedicated to your success, not just today, but for the long term.
